The package came 2 days later from Bergzeit.de, just in time to welcome a warm summer weekend. The sleeping bag was just as compact as the Starlight I, only a tick heavier. The weight was not a big constraint to me as it was not going to be something I was going to carry around. The first night proved a well slept night. By slipping in the UltraSoft 210T lining warms you up pleasantly within a few seconds. You don’t feel damp, sweaty and sticky in the morning and it seems to regulate the temperature in the sleeping bag with it’s Polar loft Micro insulation keeping you warm. The hood of the bag is smaller and anatomically formed than the classical sleeping bags. If you tend to use the sleeping bag as just a cover (for really warm nights) the hood doesn’t get into the way.. The YKK Zippers comes with a double lapping, which makes it solid to hold in your hand. The bag has a 3 dimensional neck collar keeping the warmth on colder nights. I was pleasantly surprised that even on warmer nights, the bag evens out the temperature which makes it really pleasant to sleep without sweating out.
Here are some features which the sleeping bag brings along:
- Polar loft Micro Insulation for less weight and more warmth
- Lightweight rip-stop nylon shell with DWR treatment
- Overlapping shingle construction preventing cold spots
- Offset Sharks Toe foot-piece
- Full length 2 way self lock YKK zipper with anti-snag baffle
- Glow in the dark zip pullers
- Internal pockets
- Anatomical hood
- 3-Dimensional neck collar
- Compression stuff sack
Comes in sizes S-XXL, Left and right sided. Comfort temperature: +3°C | Limit: -2°C | Extreme: -17°C. Size: 24x35cm (reg) | For heights: till 185cm (reg), till 200cm (XL) | Form: Mummy | Colour: ocean-dark ink (blue)
It’s a good choice for those of you sleeping out in spring , summer and autumn. Well done Mountain Equipment! I am sleeping well so far! If your temperature range doesn’t have to be so low, take the Starlight I instead.
